Purpose
To expand cinematic scholarship for film aficionados and aspiring writers interested in analysis of the medium who are currently attending City College, and to allow them to exercise their skills and create a public space for films both topical and representative of the diversity of expression that this art offers.

OBJECTIVES
- To provide a forum for City College students and the public at large to view and discuss films and related topics that are either ignored or rarely screened or mentioned, and which may not be taught in classes.
- To feature original work by City College students with unique perspectives on the cultural, technical, historical and artistic value of cinema, to be published online, with a quarterly print version for distribution at screenings and on campus.
- To feature and exhibit original filmmaking by students and screenwriting classes in a short film festival, at semester end, with an award presented to the film deemed by the Film Society.
- To foster relationships between departments and faculty of City College, in order to inspire a creative community on campus incorporating all disciples of art which promote each other.
- Have fun doing it all.
